Title: Cyl Porting
Post by: 1979DaytonaSpecial on February 16, 2021, 09:31:25 PM
Which 400 cyl's are best for porting ?
1A1's or 2V0"s ?

2V0 and 2R9 have naturally bigger transfers to start with. Being in the states i always started with 2V0's for the racers when i could. My old bike (the worlds fastest RD400) had 1A1's but it's alot more work but it's just what that project happened to start with. I'd start with 2R9's if i had the option because the ex port is straighter. Ed

Thanks for the reply. I currently have 1A1 cyl's, since they have the exh bleed. And my chambers fit those cyl. And from what I just read, the bolt pattern is different on 2V0 cyl's, so that limits my options.

Performance is all about overcoming obstacles and ignoring "limitations" :)
Get a new set of flanges or modify those. :)
