Hi,

Don't know whether this has been discussed previously. My apologies if it has been.

Need inputs:

I have the Rotor/Stator/Cam of R5 [steel & Mitsubishi], 350B [steel & Mitsubishi] & 400C [aluminium cast & Mitsubishi] with me. These have got mixed up while storage. Now, I am not able to figure out which Rotor & Cam belongs to their respective Stator units. The parts manual has different part numbers so I believe these are not interchangeable.

I checked with a few, they aren't sure. Says YAM had various combinations across models.

Is there a way to find out?

Cheers, BB

im not familiar enough with 400 stuff to id, but i do know the r5 and rd250/350 ones swap, but the R5 ones have less steel core 'fingers' around them than the rd ones.  i actually have pics of the 2 side by side at home somewhere.

It will help if you can post a few photos here.

well, the easiest way to ID them is the rd ones have timing marks on the outside of the rotor in the composite ring perimeter where the r5/ds7 ones are inside near the points rotor on the steel part. (not sure why i didnt think of that before). But i can def look up a pic tonight at home if that doesnt help.

Hi,
the RD400 has a different diameter compared to the early ones. At least the european models. But we have Hitachi units. So not sure if that will help

FWIW, my 400 rotor and stator are probably in my box of garbage in your garage.
