Title: The urge is getting stronger...
Post by: Brad-Man on March 03, 2019, 07:41:30 AM
I already have an '85 BMW K100 for two-up use and longer treks, but when the Triumph Thruxton came out I gave serious thought to getting one.

The only thing holding me back was ergos - I'm 64, 5'11" and if at my fightin' weight 220 lbs. - and I'm NOT at my fightin' weight...

A bit more upright and footpegs moved forward seems to me to be required for realistic future enjoyment.

The new Speed Twin is lookin' pretty good - especially if I could put the Thruxton pipes on it.

I'm afrAid to - the better half would probably throw me out for good if I added another bike

I may have to get rid of the '74 survivor RD350 first ...

Which means I'd have to put the project together first because life w/o a two stroke is really not living...

The new "Speed Twin" will have the same hp as an 18' Thruxton, lower weight, and more relaxed ergonomics. I test rode a T120 Bonneville last summer, and loved it! The lighter, more powerful Speed Twin must be even better  ;D
