Chuck Supertune Quenzler doing what he does. The Gray Ghost was puking fuel out of the float bowls when run hard due to my apparent ineptitude in setting them up. Chuck did what he always does for all if us and fixed them in short order as well as teaching me the proper way to do it Thanks Chuck :patriot: :patriot:

On the 2nd Dragon Run the Gray Ghost experienced intermittent ignition failure about 2 miles in. Frank B and I managed to jiggle some wires around and made it back to the Resort. While troubleshooting it along the road and debating we found that the motor would run perfectly until we put the bike in gear, then almost immediately start to misfire then die. The side stand safety switch was removed and discarded long ago by a previous owner.

After we got back Frank B and I found that someone along the way had twisted the wires together and left them bare undiscovered by me under the gob of wires beneath the seat until then. Initially we left the cannon plug intact and put heat shrink over the wires. M In SC suggested a better fix and subsequently did his magic, cut the plug off and attached the wires together. He also changed out my negative battery terminal. We made a run up and down 28 to the boat landing and after a thorough thrashing no more misfires. Thanks Mark and Frank B :patriot: :patriot:

Yours Truly and the now well sorted Gray Ghost RZ at the Overlook. Special thanks to M in SC for wrenching on it well into the evenings including removing and replacing the RH fork leg after Wheelers Performance dressed down some nicks that I didn't catch that took out the seal and for his patience answering all my question and help with the jetting all week. We chased a cooling problem that turned out to be previously undetected lean fuel mixture on the needle. We started at one lean on the needle and ended up all the way rich with airscrews at 1.0 turns out.And a big thank you to Chuck Supertune Quenzler for showing me I had no idea what I was doing setting the float level on VM 28s, replacing the float bowl gaskets and teaching me. And last but not least Frank B for all he does me and everyone else all the time.
the famous Gray Ghost looks awesome.
The bike looks great Tim! It was really good seeing all you guys again this year.

Our annual pilgrimage is done and I had such a wonderful time in that most magical place with the best people in the world. Thank you to everyone who helped me get the Gray Ghost RZ sorted. Mark Haase, Chuck Supertune Quenzler and Frank Bryan all put in hours of work, taught me things I didn't know and answered my incessant questions. Special thanks to Karl Jones for that wonderful gift. It was so good to see and talk with all of you my dear old friends. We slew the Dragon again and again maybe not as fast as we once were but I bet he knows we were there. Thank you to Evans Ward for honoring our friend John Evans and RD Charlie and the pizza crew for making it special for Ben and Casey Evans. I know John was there looking down on all of us and I bet he has a fast RZ in heaven. Thank you Nitrous Carl for all you do for all of us every year and for bringing Jack from Cycle Drag to spread news of our meet to the world. Thanks Jack for interviewing me about the Phoenix Project which would not exist without the Kawasaki Triples forum and the guys who made it happen. Thank you everyone... I am forever grateful. I can't believe it has been 20 years since the fire and the Phoenix Project the Bike Built by the Board lives on because of your kindness and generosity. .

there's a paywall to see those. :dawg:
I had a great time. 3rd year.
It was the year of the water buffalo for sure. Also the year of the collapsed pop up tents. I had 2 of them collapse myself.
I was able to look over Marks awesome light weight. What a cool bike. Little bits and pcs that did not go together but looked perfectly in place.
already looking forward to next year.
Great thread. There are a few Facebook posts/vids circulating that I saw in the past few days as well.
few pics. wasnt able to find on on 129 photos or killboy of me on the tzr though. odd.
lightweight and the fun & reliable CB1100.
