Turning Wrenches / Rd400 stronger clutch question
March 03, 2019, 06:30:38 AM
Hi guys

Iam currently working on the clutch and I have put a single rubber First and then a friction plate and a steel.
Just using 1 rubber ring at the bottom

But the manuel says rubber in between layer, but I think i remember chuck said that with these friction plates and stronger springes Its not necessary or Possible??

Can anyone confirm this? :)

Haus of Projects / RD400 under construction
February 16, 2019, 02:25:29 PM
So.. The old 2sw page went down, and gone was Also my 3 year old build thread..  :harley:

But here we Are now, and Iam Thankfull for everyone making the New 2 stroke world happen!  :patriot:

My status quo on the build is :

Currently having problems with front and rear wheel, getting Hard to spin when the nuts Are tightened, so i Will try to address this tomorrow.

Engine :
My refurb crank is not going clean in the casing because the Guy Who refurb the crank, used longer pins in the middel bearings, which makes it Hard to assemble the 2 casings.
Solution: either I grind a bit of the pins or i make more room in the pin holes in the casings.? Not sure what Iam gonna do yet.

Stay tuned for more pictures and updates guys :metal:

Turning Wrenches / Tight front and rear wheel rd400
February 16, 2019, 11:04:21 AM
Hi guys
Its a wierd one to ask about because it should be damn simple

Everything is New or refurb
Bearings Are New and should be All in place in the rims

But as I tighten the front wheel and rear, They Almost lock up.
IT looks like the front has the inner side of the disc brake, scraping on the caliper( there is not pads installed) i dont know why They hit there a little, everything should be by the book.

The rear has chain tensioners and everything on, but when tightened, Its locked up

ANYONE, with hints/ideas/ experience with this?
Please do tell :)
