Funny how things turn out. My first RD was a 76 which I bought my junior year in college in the early 80s. This time I wanted to go older school, meaning spoke wheels and a little more raw. I have quite a lot of parts new and old, so adding another 400 would be like starting over in that regard. The 73 is essentially a 74/75 with the clutch upgrade. Both my 74/75 have 520 chain kits ready to go on. I consider my 75 done, and the 73 I won't do anything to as it's exactly the way I want it to be, but maybe will try manifold spacers since I have a set and see if it makes much difference. The 74 is going to be a project, nothing radical aesthetically. Just some mild engine work (crank, upper end, CDI, maybe new low top or flat sided carbs), rear sets, gold 520 kit with 14/39 gearing, and I was thinking sun aluminum rims anodized gold to give it a slight flash. Only thing not working is the brake light switch from the hand brake, and the shipping leaked fork oil onto the front brake.
