I tried to find a good live recording from the early 80's and the sound was pretty poor. The studio version kicks ass though!
Some more Saxon for good measure!
Figured I'd throw some content-related Montrose in here too.
for 'cultured' kids of the late 70's/early 80s.
Hell yeah! I was hoping they'd play Overkill or Bomber though.
Killed by death. One of my faves but really, they are all great. the cultured part was the 'young ones'. lol. (bit tongue in cheek)

While we're on a NWOBHM kick, Here's my fav vid by my fav NWOBHM band from New York not England:
I'm always on a NWOBHM kick! I never got into Manowar that much. They're good, but I don't listen to them too much.

I don't listen to 'em much either, but they're always good for a laff.
Another favorite of the genre:
So bad it's good!

Put the link in between the brackets where the cursor goes when you click on the "YouTube" tab.
One of my favorite records of all time, and biggest regret missing tem when they played SF a few times in the mid-90s.
I went from the Motörhead to this:
was stoked to see these guys for there first show of the tour in santa cruz ca. and catch the last show of there coast to coast 6 1/2 week tour

Here's to a happy and prosperous 2020!
I'm old - this is my kinda jam...
There is a live version with poor audio and video but great jam if you look.
OH YEAH!!! Gotta love that UK punk. PUB FEED is great.
One of the best albums of my youth. I saw them live a few times back in the day
A couple of my very favorite live performances caught on film!
MC5 live in Detroit 1970!
Black Sabbath live at CalJam 1974!!!
I like this thread. Y'alls got some pretty good taste.

My wife and I have tickets to the Stones in May in Minneapolis. I'm starting to wonder if we'll be able to go.
Holy Hell, this is HOT!
Just released footage from Pickathon 2017.
Soo much soul in this man and the band is on fire.

Yup.
I got the "How Could Hell ..." LP in about 1983 when I was 15.
The 90's records "Suffer" and "No Control" were pretty goo, but the rest all sound the same to me.
That's so awesome.
something for the ones that need to wind down ;D
My bud Chris (guitar/lead vocs in the vid) finally uploaded this 22 year old footage from my old garagepunk band The Teeth.
I'm playing bass.
Do you still play, Jim?
I've always loved this. Bob Rivers, Seattle-area rock radio guy and twisted tunes creator, would have bands visit his actual home garage and play. According to the liner notes, his neighbors would bring lawn chairs and park in the cul-de-sac to enjoy. That, to paraphrase Kevin Schwantz, would be the coolest thing known to mankind.
The chatter at the beginning always makes me laugh. Remember, you're chilling in a lawn chair on a summer evening outside your neighbor's garage!
My first YouTube link post, btw. Pretty chuffed that it worked!

That sounds like a lot of fun, Wade!
Seen the Melvins many times. One time sticks out in my mind ... I was wearing shorts and standing near the PA stacks and it was so fcuking loud, I distinctly remember feeling the air pushing out of the speakers blowing my leg hair back.
Here's OFF!
Really curious how live rock n' roll will survive the Covid. The thought of jostling around a sweaty club just seems so ....
Wade, remind me to fire this up the next time you're root'n around in my stash pile!
Sweet rig Dennis. :metal:
I've sold off most of my good sh!t to buy motorcycles and parts, but still have:
1986 Rickenbacker 360 Tuxedo (one of 200)
2000 Fender Jazz Bass MIM (replaced the '74 Jazz I'm playing in "The Teeth" video I sold to buy a motorcycle)
Many, many miscellaneous '60-'80's MIJ guitars (Teisco, Univox Pro, Kent, etc)
Early 70's Fender Bassman 50 head and matching cab (has a vintage JBL D140F 15" in it now, but also have a pair of "green back" Celestion 12" for it)
Mid 70's Ampeg V4-B head and shitty Crate cube with a Peavy Black Widow 15".
Tons of vintage analog stompbox pedals, etc.
Just got a newish compact Pearl Traveller drum kit and have all the PA gear, keys, etc. Just wish I had more time/energy/desire to play. We used to have Family Jam Friday Nights in the basement, but have gotten out of the habit.
I miss being in bands, but not much time these days.
Jim, one of my garages is stacked to the rafters with vintage tube amps! Fender, Marshall, Mesa, Ampeg, McIntosh(stereo stuff). I've always had a hard time selling stuff! People come and lowball it and I usually tell them to #@$% off.
You two should meet in the middle somewhere and jam. Might I suggest an old barn in, say, Chehalis?
Went to the Hall & Oats with Squeeze show the other night. Daryl seemed to take a bit to get going but did good. Squeeze blew everyone away, what a tight band. :olaf:

Yes! I'm in a Squeeze fans group on FB, and they've been getting rave reviews for this tour with basically everyone saying the same as you.
I (first and only time) saw Squeeze was their first reunion tour, when I was a junior in HS at the UCBerkeley Greek Theater in 1985. They played most of the songs off "Singles - 45's and Under" and the hits off the current record "Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti". I had been to small venue punk rock shows before that, but Squeeze that night was my first big band at a big venue. Mind blowing experience .... but I'm sure the blotter was helping

Gonna be a rocking weekend!
A sad note..
UFO announced they are done.. final shows in Europe..
Lights out for UFO.
That was a helluva run. How many original members are still out there doing it?
Today was a David Allen Coe day..
Wrenching, whisky and spending time remembering my youth.
My grandma was good Irish catholic woman. She never approved of my lifestyle.. but she loved me.. that much I know.
At least never got run over by a God damn train...

Man, I'm so stoked to see that people remember UFO :olaf: Saw them 27 times and
caught the last 2 shows in L.A. back in 2019.
Only Phil and Andy from the old guard but it was great to see Neil Carter return to
the fold after Paul Raymond passed.
Still am a huge UFO Head, hence the fascination with V's lol...
Cheers!
Joe
Sorry if this double posted!
UFO is great for sure. VERY underrated/recognized.
side note, last night:
:olaf:

Nice! Now that's a drum riser!
Wish Algy Ward and the guys from Tank would have done something like that on the drums!
Joe, that's an impressive set up! Love the Bigsby...................................D
Just saw judas priest on their 50th anniversary tour. They killed it! The set list was incredible, Rob's singing was a little rough but still very good. Hell he is 70 years old!

Thank you so much Brother! The Lonnie Mack is a hoot to play (baseball bat neck and all) and the Bigsby is
pretty surfadelic
While the smart kids in the neighborhood had savings accounts, me and my delinquent friends however...
Cheers!
