Motobatt makes great batteries.  I have on in my KH400, about 5 years old and running strong.  A little more expensive than Bikemaster, maybe worth the extra bucks.

ugh. I think I was mistaken about the direct fit for that motobatt. It looks like it might be too big.

arrg. I typed in the wrong battery part number (12n5.5-3b vs. 12n5.5A-3b) and I'm thinking the motobatt will be too large to fit in my battery box.

Does anyone have part numbers for a powersport battery that will fit? I looked at the sigma tek, but its seems like most are 12v 4ah. I haven't looked at the alarm batteries yet. They look like they are an easy fit, but I really don't know where to start looking on those.

Does anyone see anything wrong with either of these batteries? Is it bad to go a little over on amperage? My conventional battery is 12v 5.5ah.

ah.... I see its 4.5 not 4.0 for the sigma you sent over. Does the 4.5 inch width fit into the battery box well?

The stock yuasa dimensions are:

Length: 4 1/16 in.
Width: 3 9/16 in.
Height: 4 1/2 in.

I cut up a inner tube to wrap some around it, it's slightly smaller than stock one same height.

I also found this one. Although it is 7ah, it says it's a direct replacement for my yuasa battery and that it will fit the RD350.
I've got a Motobatt MBTZ7S from a bike I bought for spares in my '74 RD350, small bit of foam used to secure it, jobs a good'un 👍

Long story short, the yamaha dealer gave me an AGM battery for free since my old conventional battery was under warranty. The one I got is the same (or very close) height and width as the old battery. The height and width fit perfect in the battery "mount/holder." I couldn't find the right foam, so I  added some bike inner-tubes like one of the guys suggested to make up for the shorter depth.

The battery part number is CTZ7S Fire Power (replaces YTZ7S). 12V 6ah.  If you are interested, I've attached a picture. Thanks again for all the great info!

I finally had time to install it. Hopefully I'll be shredding the streets soon  :metal:
