Tiddler Tour…

I did a glorious Tiddler Tour on the RD200 yesterday through rural Connecticut.  It was organized by a Guzzi guy from Wild Guzzi.  I ended up at the 100 mile mark with the ride in and ride home.  (My daughter lives 15 miles from the starting point so I went up for the weekend).  Fantastic weather, great turn out of interesting iron young and old, big and small.

Remarkably there was one pair of doubles.  A woman showed up on a 72 Rd200, making two in the pack.  In another coincidence, she had the feminine version of my name.  Edwin and Edwina...

That green bike is interesting. It appears to be a CS5 that been repainted green with RD200 tank decals added.

I thought 72 was too early for an RD200.  She said she's owned it 7 years but didn't seem to know too much about it.  It was clean.  I noticed it had R5/DS7-ish grey cables throughout so if original, may be a tip-off.

Also, I found out that 75 miles (with a lot of WFO) is where it hits reserve from full.  Never got there before.

Yep, '73 was the first year for the RD200. You can tell it's an earlier model, because the CS5 had gray cables and 1-piece exhausts, and the engine covers are the earlier style. But none of the 200 models ever came in green. Looks like it might be Compeition Green which was used on the RS100B.
