Congratulations. I wouldn't think of it to flush it out with water. I guess a certain last resort before taking it apart. Is it a good idea to anti seize those bolts? I know it can't hurt but I guess I just wonder if there was ever a problem with them getting stuck?I don't remember doing mine, LOL.

Congrats and may you both live happily together for a very long time in good health! I sincerely hope you never have to part with the 250, I think you went over the top with it but did such a great job on her in every aspect, she's yours! As far as owning your home I wish I could add some wise advice , I can't (I've been single for so long that it will never change and never moved out of Ma's place and I kinda like it like that,LOL...I got my freedom dammit)but I will say something similar to what I read in a previous post...about 400k here in Gloucester, Ma. for similar size single family homes but I guess that's relative to the area/real estate market.

P.S.-not that it matters but I live alone in a old run down house on a beautiful piece of wooded property that Ma owns. We talked about renovating ourselves before all the craziness of this world the past couple years and now personally I think we're a day late and a dollar short. She lives close by and in a sense my family is kinda tight in that regard. My ma and her husband take care of my sister and my niece and nephew and eventually I will probably help take care of em all. Well I dunno about taking care of them but being fiscally responsible and maintain a good home for all of us.  I dated women for years some were great and some were forgettable none were keepers and the older I get the more focused/ self absorbed I guess I am. Relationships aren't in the cards for everybody. It's my  :toot: today and at 48 I can be OK with all that. I do reserve the right to hopefully meet someone special and to that effect I will say to all of you that have a "better half" I love it!...wish you all the best! Happy wife happy life as they say.

Have you ridden it? Such a hoot styling wise. I love it the more I look at it.

Well must've sold quick. Clicked on the link and it says not available.

Wow, I've never seen one of those. For a mfgr. that publicly put down development of two stroke streetbikes for the masses it's made even more rare and interesting that they made it.

Oh and that front "inboard disk" wheel setup looks very cool...but I just can't believe it. Whats the point?...did I read that correctly?...looks like a stylish drum brake.

Yeah I've noticed a ton of RD350 bikes listed as RD135 on FB Marketplace. Never sold one on there or anything for that matter but I imagine it must be that when one makes/places an ad for their RD for sale that "RD135" comes up as a choice and without a thought or maybe its a thought too late they place the ad before they can correct that part of it. So then they're just stuck trying to sell a RD135.

I can see why you're having second thoughts. It's a very pretty bike. So what's the story about it? How did it come your way and what have you done to her since?

p.s- I should of asked this first, how's she run?

Nice bike. Sounded real crisp. :bacon:

Congrats on your new ride. Wish I had some useful info to contribute but I don't know much more other than what I've read about em. It looks really nice and it's a two stroke triple so it's pretty freaking cool in my book. :olaf:

I actually saw one  on Ebay this past winter and kept looking at it for the longest time till someone scooped it up. I recall it being painted white with chambers on her and some crosses for emblems as it was supposedly owned and ridden by a minister out of Long Island New York. He had a pretty reasonable buy it now and the most interesting ad description. Just going on and on about these bikes being massively underrated compared to the Kawi H2. He made mention of the H2's thru the roof expensive and that this bike being a bargain. A poor man's H2 in a matter of speaking and somewhat right on point. Well it all sounded good, I wouldn't know I never ridden either bike but who cares you got it and that's what counts.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Don't understand how someone buying a bike can inherit a "registration back fee" but to say only in California?

Here in Oklahoma if you buy a vehicle that hasn't had the Oklahoma registration kept up to date you have to pay the arrears and a fine if you want to register it. But if you take the bike to another state you could title and register it as a new registration in that state and the Oklahoma title and registration fees are not assessed.  I imagine it's the same in California.

Hmmm, I don't think we have this rule here in Ma. However in my home state we do have to formally cancel the registration to cancel the insurance coverage. Well at least it's what I did and a good idea, like in my case the insurance was paid up for the rest of the year and I was entitled to a credit for canceling it as well as an abatement on the excise tax as I didn't have the bike on the road for a full year. On that not excise tax on a bike in one of the rust belt states where bikes really only get used when the weather is nice, talk about a racket.

No problem, happy to know it worked out for you and nice that Mark chimed in with the bolt size. I saved my bolt somewhere in the RD tool and parts chest but all that stuff gets buried on top of other stuff and I just hope that I never need to use it again.  :umm: :shocked:I know from experience that the best way to remember stuff like this is buy either doing it, reading about, writing about it, or talking about it. Then at least for me I'll remember when the time comes that I have to do it all over again. I will also say I wish I had found this forum sooner before I started taking my bike's engine apart.

You may want to check with Economy Cycle. They're a forum sponsor here. However before I was aware of the existence of this forum or them as a retailer for most all RD stuff I acquired this special bolt from HVC Cycles. It threads into the rotor and pushes against the crank to pull  the rotor off. It's been awhile since I did it and I only did it once. I'm thinking you may also need to find a safe and effective way to lock up the crank to keep it from spinning while your threading in the bolt. I think what I did was pull the clutch cover and wedged in some piece of wood or a rag/combo between the primary gear and that large clutch basket gear. Not sure though, that may not be necessary. Anyway check out the link I found for the HVC bolt, it's cheap enough.

General Chatter / Re: Mmmmm, marinated calipers

Ahh I see. Well I am absolutely of no help, just entertaining. In my case the new repros were so gosh darn cheap it was ridiculous to rebuild the old ones. Honestly though calipers can be worth rebuilding for sure...most of the time.
