I would love to see some plastic caps or insets in those cutouts.

Gonna be a challenge to keep clean.

I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet. Have you had any interest?
BTW Jim, your CL ad appears to have been flagged for some reason.

Thx Russ.  I dunno what the fcuking problem is with people.  This ad gets flagged every couple of weeks and I have to redo it.

Current ad is expired, I'll put it back up in a couple weeks when I'm back in town.

... and yeah, Mark, I'm about ready to take $4k for it.  Just wanted to give a prospective buyer room to talk me down so they'd feel like they were getting a good deal.

That's a nice looking bike - and the blasting result makes me want to get mine done - just need to find someone who does that in Brisbane.

Very slick.
Look on the OZVMX forum & you'll find some recommendations for vapour blasting in the Brisbane area. Getting to be go to finish on dirt bikes as well because as well as looking like new it seems to be very stain resistant unlike bead blasting

It's true!  The VB process peens the surface of cast ally and seals the pores.  Dry glass beads do the opposite.

Still got it!

Someone make me an offer on this thing.  It's in the way and I need the cash for my RD350LC resto!

Hmm, out of "180 bikes", it's mostly twostrokes in the CL ad pics.

What does this mean?

I do a Back Country Discovery Route ride every year on my KTM 300xcw.  Two years ago we did Oregon from the Southern border back to Portland.  Last year we did WA from the Canadian border back to Portland.  This summer we're doing a big loop in Idaho.

Each ride is about 1000 miles and takes 10 days straight.   Camping every night.

That's at least 10 tanks of premix.

I bring two or three litres of oil and a 4oz plastic bottle.

I mix about 55:1, so that's half a bottle per gallon, a full bottle for two gallons (I'm not very anal about mix ratio).

Easy.

you can tap them to m4 and fit brass plugs. just short tap them so they 'stop' in place. should only need one box for the zeel, ive run 3 of em on bikes.

So, for set curves, do I just use the Zeel CDI box (CDI-RD7) and everything else stays stock?

... and if I want programmable, upgrade to VCDI-04 with the handheld programmer?

sweet! looks great.

yeah, those balls need to come out for cleaning, no matter what you clean them with on the carbs. or fit some 'aircooled' 28's

id suggest a zeeltronic to control the timing a bit, will def help with the midrange, especially with ported LC cyls. Ive done a few bikes with lc topends as you know, and that was the biggest thing that helped the mids.

Do you fit set screws in place of the ballz after cleaning?  Do they need to be brass?

What's the deel with the Zeel?  There are three separate components.  Do I need all three for the basic kit?

What Chris said.

I have a 10L ultrasoninc and wish I got a bigger one.

I put everything off the bike in there, carbs, cylinders, random nuts and bolts, etc.

10L isn't quite big enough for the engine cases, so yeah, go bigger if you can.

Got my cases back from the vapor blasters.  The shop http://motor-sports-eng.com/vapor.html is a few miles from my house, and charges $75/hr for vapor blasting.  Said it took 45 mins for this beautiful finish, and was ready the same day I dropped them off.  They even gave me 15mins credit toward my next session. They'll be getting my forks and footrest hangers eventually.

Got my rebuilt crank back from Garrett GRA400C Amner.  Replacement center section, rods and bearings from Yambits.

Garrett does fantastic work! Great prices and super fast turnaround.  He did a great job on my KH400 crank as well.

Turning Wrenches / Big windows, little windows?
March 21, 2019, 01:50:59 AM
I will be buying pistons for my RD350LC soonish.

As far as I can tell, I can get little round window RD style or big oval window RZ style to fit.

Is there a performance difference between the two?
