I'm looking at seats and I like the Texavina, HVC and these guys:

I like the foam & cover kit idea, but $45 seems steep for shipping. Anybody have experience with any of theses or recommend something similar?
I really like the look of that #3407 kit.
As I said earlier, I think using the stock pan is a big plus as you can use the stock hinges and latch, and hopefully reuse the aluminum trim strip if you have it.
... as for the $45 shipping, Vietnam ain't exactly right next door.
I have a Vietnam seat on my RD400c. It is Ok, but not a great fit. Had to make ~8mm shims for the hinges and latch for it to mount. Would have been much better to use original seat pan, but mine was rotted out. Re-foaming (even shaping a "hump") is easy with carpet padding (called "rebond), 3M 80 spray contact cement, and electric carving knife (NOT the wife's!) I had a local guy stitch my cover but now wish I had done it myself.
This is for a GL1000:(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210817/86684a31900ac2313bf89fc3fe1d8565.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210817/d68ba7e3ae51521ca23a01cafb66c9b1.jpg)
I love the one i got from them.
Can an owner of a Texavina tell me how soft the foam is? My current 12 year old Vietnamese seat is quite hard. I'm thinking of getting a new style Texavina but am concerned about how soft/hard it is. When I asked, The company replied to me "all my seats are not that soft. I think it is medium firmness.
I think the stock seat will be softer than my seats."
I need a real world users answer.
Thanks
it all depends on your butt calibration I would assume. The one I have is not hard at all just MED firmness. Much better on my butt that the one I had and that one was OK. just did not like the looks.
