The prices people want for used H2 oil lines always blows my mind, although prices for anything H2 seem crazy.

That's because people are too heavy handed with them, and then have to find a new item.
They can be made up using new banjo's ,Yamaha valves off a snow mobile and new pipework of your choice, it won't be "factory", but it will work properly, not filling up the crankcases or the carb bowls

Price has been lowered to $350. I noticed this one is a Canadian 3J7 piece (not the usual USA 2V0)
Wound up getting about US$200 for a Cdn head. Was listed for 6 months before it sold so those likely will never sell.

We've seen that one and there are a couple issues with the description, big issues with the price.
It is fairly unique with the coffin tank, chappy red paint with '77 decals, seat cowl and the disc brake wire wheels.
I havent seen others with that combo. Either it was a repainted euro spec 76, pieced together, or Yamaha did something different in Oceana for awhile.
Insane pricing on that 76..looks identical to my 77 I just sold here but with an earlier or later tail. Same tank and paint. Got $3K and that took a while...
what a fool. bigger fool is the idiot who buys it.

The extra bucks are for the patina.

A lot of these EBay listings when you look at the seller's history it says "Best offer was accepted". It does not say what that offer was. I assume it was a fraction of what the starting bid price was at the beginning. It's basically fake pricing but why?
Like really, who is gonna pay $300 for a rusty headlight bucket? Or $150 for a bent fork ear when other strippers are selling them for 20 bucks? The difference between mint and meh on these bikes isn't a lot. It's not a fricken' 1 of a kind Vincent with provenance to Lawrence of Arabia or anything.
"I was gonna' buy your super clean RD man but the headlight pot isn't original". "Pass". ...Said no one ever. People watching too much cable TV act like Wayne Carini with an RD 350. Get TF out dude. I'd be embarrassed to 'ask' for $ off over that point.
I wonder what their tax filings look like and if they are claiming losses? It happens a lot in small business. Net zero profit at the end of the year. Audit roulette. F.R.A.U.D.

That IS a JDM market '81-'83 RZ350 tank. RD350LC 4U0 was called RZ350 in Japan, and our RZ350 was called RZ350R.
https://rddecals.afegraphics.com/view_product.php?adminshopping=&product=81RZ350JP-Blue-FullKit-R00048
New Taiwan made RD350LC repop tanks are $375 from Webike, Yambits and Norbos.
https://japan.webike.net/products/22895030.html
If it was an NOS '84-86 RZ350 tank, it wold be worth some serious coin (but not that much coin), as there are no quality repops available.

People...
Very large pipes.
He spray painted them for you, I'm not sure what you're complaining about.
That and the size combine to dominate appearance of bike.
It's pretty bad, it's all a bit disproportionate. I'm not super familiar with T500's but those down pipes don't look right, but maybe they need to stick out the front as the pipes do appear a bit short. Either way, $6800 is crazy for a chopped T500. A friend of mine has a really mint one and he only wanted $4500 for it. He ended up keeping it because he liked it.
Only $750 for some old and rotten 2V0 carbs that are missing the rubber cap seals? Crap, I should have asked a lot more than the $175 I got for my clean working set!

Yeah...we'll see. I think we've collectively been shocked at the dollar amounts bikes have been pulling in the last few weeks. At least with RZs, the he-won't-get amounts have been something like 8k, 12k, 16k and most recently 20.5k, and somebody paid it. For an RZ! I can say that, as an owner of a couple myself, but am I making a mistake holding on to them? I'm watching the $29k and change one to see if I should be looking for a few stock parts to make one "original" again.
I will be hanging onto mine. I could never replace it with the prices this stuff is bringing now...but mine is not original so it isn't worth as much.
at this rate ill never own an RZ. Better to stick wit the buffalo pipe dream instead.
Striker, I'm saving one for you.................. :clint:

$2000 for at best a serious project, at worst a parts bike. FZR1000's are not rare either. Just as common as any other sport bike from that era. I've seen some stupid listings, but this is a new level. It's always a dead give away that the seller has no knowledge of the bike when they post the specs.

I find the CX engine to be unlovely. It's styled like it was intended to be hidden inside bodywork, like the PC800. Moto Guzzi made the same layout look purposeful and muscular. So when I asked "what's uglier than a CX500 engine", the answer is: this particular CX500 engine. :burnout:
I will have to admit that the color combination is definitely bilious...
fitting death for a CX motor.
