In Albuquerque and enjoying my RD350. It runs out of power after the 10K trailhead on the crest highway, but otherwise I'm getting close on jetting.

Always want to ride with fellow smokers!

Turning Wrenches / Re: Counter shaft seal
August 24, 2019, 09:50:40 PM
After about 1000 miles from rebuild, my countershaft started leaking slightly as well. I was worried that the bearing was loose and caused the seal to fail. It did not seem loose.

My plan, subject to guidance from this forum, is to replace the seal and collar.

Just to be clear, the hot setup is to Yamabond the collar to the bearing, not the countershaft? Will the collar spin with the countershaft or will the countershaft spin within the collar?

I'm trying to visualize if the oil seep is between the seal and the collar or the collar and the countershaft... Seems like the collar should spin to me... Please educate me!

The expertise on this forum is awesome!

Thanks!

I use 2 of these in 4 oz (for 1 gallon at 32:1) and 2 in 8 oz (for 2 gallons at 32:1). They don't leak, even if under the seat vibrating against the metal frame and seat.

I saw a nice, operational, GT185 this afternoon in New Mexico. Is this someone on here?

Hello all.

Thanks Mark for getting the forums back up and running!

I will be moving my 1973 RD 350 out west to Albuquerque NM. That just over a mile higher than my current elevation.

Current Setup:
Chuck Q Super Tune Stage 1 porting and head work
YZ125 reeds
Chuck Q Boost bottle & manifolds
Replacement VM28 round slide carbs
   2.0 air jet
169-P2 needle jet milled 1.5 mm
   37.5 Pilot
   210 Main
   ? jet needle
Y-boot with Uni filter
Spec 2 F1 Race pipes
PowerDynamo (MZB) static CDI ignition

Bike runs nice at my elevation, but will need some changes to work at 6000+ ft elevation.

Will I just need to down 2-3 sized on the main, maybe down 1 on the pilot, and move the clip 1 notch up?

Looking for a good starting point and advice.

Thanks for any help, and if you are near Albuquerque, message me. I have space and will know the roads soon.
