It's been for sale continuously since it was first listed on CL locally in mid-2021
Started off at $5900 in May 2021, then jumped to $10.5K or $11.5K in June. Around that time the mileage also changed from 17K to 11K to 10.5K. He was advertising it as a "Survivor" and saying it only needed a little bit to get it running again because it had holed a piston.
That thing not only has ugly all over it, but it's dripping with sketchiness.

Race Discussions / Isle of Man TT - 2024
May 28, 2024, 03:46:52 PM
Opening day was yesterday which got going after a morning weather delay. Michael Dunlop put in a 129.590 mph lap in Superbike qualifying.
Today was rained out.

Some coverage on YouTube. Or if you want to fork out some $$ you can get the TT streaming app.

The India round scheduled for Sept 22 had been cancelled for 2024. Apparently the organizer still owes Dorna money for last year's race and the two have been going at each other this season. The Buddh track is tentatively slotted in as the opening round for the 2025 season, but with the current situation between Dorna and the circuit organizer I would guess that we haven't heard the end of the scheduling drama.

The previously postponed Kazakhstan round may take the place of the India race in Sept, but the readiness of that circuit is still in doubt.

Turning Wrenches / Re: Pro-X piston ring question
May 20, 2024, 08:40:56 PM
One of Chuck's recommendations from 2019: "Another tip on Pro-X pistons kits is throw the 2nd ring wavy expander in the trash, don't use it!"
From the many discussions over the years about these, now every time I hear about a ring expander I always think of Chuck saying "toss that ring expander where it belongs, in the garbage!" It's burned into my memory now. :burnout:

Wow, this is terrible and very sad news. Ken, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your friend. He was an amazing guy. My condolences to his friends and family.

(not mine)
Really nice looking pair of low-mile 125s! A few really minor issues but easily fixed (missing badge on left engine cover, missing mirrors, oil leak (oil pump?).

Nice score Jim! Those are fun bikes! That's a really nice looking one.

I've worked on a few of them over the years. I just had one here a couple months ago that I was repairing for a guy (carb rebuild, oil pump rebuild, new clutch, electrical troubleshoot).

At 7K miles you might want to check the brushes (there are 4). The ones on this bike, which has a few more miles than yours (9500) were toast.

The date hasn't been announced yet but I would assume it will be in the fall like the past few years. Last year was Sun Oct 8 so keep that in mind.

Quote from: RDnuTZ on May 15, 2024, 10:28:13 AMI see a Left side carb on the DS7/R5 Frankenbike pictured?
You're right. That one did have carbs, must have been thinking of another bike there.
