For the RD250 I just picked up in a previous post.

Kickstand was loose.
Found this.
Does not look normal

I don't know if anything is WRONG there, but that's a really clean spring. Perhaps not OEM/correct?
I post waayyy too much

yes the later bikes had that washer with the pin. however, may be an earlier year spring that was replaced hence longer and sloppier.

Milan

Yes.

I purchased a new spring, as I thought the old one was " un-srprung ".
Its the same length new & old.
90507-29004 is the part i got

But the KS is not tight when its up.
It wobbles.

So I tried removing the spacer thing, and could not get the spring to stretch to the catch hub.

wobbles? well yeah its not going to be super tight the mount and the top of the kickstand are 47 yrs old and have been under  static load wearing that whole time. tighten the bolt up a bit if you can. If you mean wobbles like up and down, then its the wrong spring for that year. pretty simple.

Milan

Ya.

There is that little rubber bumper that hits the exhaust, when up
That is not tight, and bounces down a bit.

Also when down, you just touch it and it releases up.

anyone have a correct part number.
Got that one off the manual here on the forum.

take they eyelet washer off. will work fine. even yamaha fiche has only one part number for it. 90507-29004-00.

Milan

Not understanding that.

Rough morning!

that washer the kickstand spring is on. remove it. hook spring right on the peg, should work fine like earlier bikes. might need to lop off the pin on the bolt.

or, shorten the spring. or hit ebay look for a used one in the same configuration.

Milan

Ok.
Yes removed that washer extension .
Could not so far, get spring back on.

Wondering why pin is on bolt.
Was just going to order one from parts manual

unbolt sidestand. hook spring onto frame pin. reinstall sidestand, use it to lever spring.

Alternatively, stuff washers or pennies in between the coils of the spring to lengthen it.  Hopefully it will get long enough to connect the spring, then remove the washers/pennies.

Milan

I stuck the washer in to get the old one out.

If you search the Posts, I have one from a while ago on the same thing.

To put on the spring it needs to be streched first to put washer in, then taken to the bike.

1. Put bike on the center stand.
2. Unbolt side-stand.
3. Hook the spring to the frame, then hook the spring on the side-stand.
4. Get big and pull the side-stand forward into the pivot of the frame. Use your foot on the center stand if you have to.
5. Install bolt, and tighten down. Enjoy wobble-free kickstand.
