I know this has been addressed, but do you use any sealant on RD 400 base gaskets?

anaerobic sealer is a good option as well. https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/anaerobic-gasket-makers-sealants/permatex-anaerobic-flange-sealant-50-ml/

it also comes right off for disassembly. great for intakes (reeds etc) as well.

just a smear of grease on each face works for me. no more ripping them in half when you remove the barrels and mine have never leaked  :guinness:
cheers, gil.

Grease for me. Unless the contact surfaces are roached. Then I go with high tack spray.
