Quote from: m in sc on May 10, 2021, 02:52:30 PMSpot on advice right there, only addition would be to wring that sumbitch's neck a little more often 😋
its tuning and carb maintenance plain and simple IF the stock system is good shape. relying on 40 year old coils/wires/caps/condensors is not a good idea. they are a service item this far along, change them.
the stock charging system can run a 55w halogen, a car ignition, and a water pump. been there done it. zero issues. Just needs to be set up correctly. even on points bike i can leave plugs in for years.

Called a local shop to get the frame powder coated. Was told $250. Hell yeah, not a bad price. So I'll check that off the list and drop it off with my tax return.
Called a local chrome shop for the fenders.
$350 to $400 a piece... OK goodbye.
I just bought a new RD400 front fender from the dealer for much less , $120 USD

I'm getting tired of saying it's not an "RD", the few that know the difference are appreciated !

Quote from: Dvsrd on July 16, 2020, 11:22:57 AMLike a lot of expansions Allspeeds/Gibsons on their own add zero power but do save some weight. Left "as is" all you're buying is looks & noise
The Allspeeds are of a more basic design than Spec2. So I doubt they Will give the same power.
Quote from: jradnich on July 13, 2020, 03:39:32 PMYou can add BMW (2 or 4 wheel) owners to that
Myself, I haven't had any problems with Harley riders. Maybe it's because I have a Dyna too. Most of the older bikers I've met seem to appreciate my rides. In fact, a local HD club is doing a spaghetti feed fund raiser soon and I plan on riding there on a RD.
I do try to avoid conversation with the KTM crowd though. I think they stay up all night remembering the specs on their bikes so they can recite them to anyone on 2 wheels.
