Title: 500cc GP history - 40 years ago
Post by: SoCal250 on May 02, 2023, 12:33:23 PM
40 years ago: The first American podium sweep - Monza, April 24, 1983  :patriot:
1st    Freddie Spencer, Honda NS500
2nd   Randy Mamola, Suzuki RG500
3rd    Eddie Lawson, Yamaha YZR500
...and another American, Kenny Roberts was on pole.

Today, there is not even one American in the premier class. Pretty sad.

Ah, those were the days!  Unfortunately I was not alive to experience 'em!  It does seem like forever since Nicky Hayden was racing in Moto GP.
