eBay/FB Marketplace/Craigslist watch / Front forks ?
February 17, 2021, 04:02:48 PM
Seems really cheap I wonder how they were able to get the price so low? This is for the pair. Any quality concerns?

Thought I'd ask it here since I'm a little bewildered. My snowblower started and then as soon as the auger started working and blowing snow it stopped working. It would not start again. When I checked the oil it was the color of coffee mixed with cream or maybe like a lightly color peanut butter.

Now I've read online and seen in person what antifreeze does to oil however this snowblower doesn't have antifreeze.

Wondering what would cause the oil change color so quickly after an oil change. I'm guessing this is the reason that the engine isn't staying on. I change the carburetor out for a new one. Next will be to test the pressure

Turning Wrenches / Motor running away at start
January 07, 2021, 02:15:20 PM
When i kick start the bike it revs to the max. I have to use the OFF/RUN/OFF button to stop the engine from redlining. All my air and gas screws on the carbs are turned tight inward. 1975 RD350 stock

:metal:EDIT: I think it's working now. Cleaned all the IGN parts. Now I'm able to start the bike on the other side alone. However the bike is running away from me. :metal:

I'm not getting spark at the spark plug, but if I play around at the ignition points I get spark. What should I do?

So I have spark at the plug on the left side. However I'm thinking maybe fuel is the problem so I'll need to take apart the carb I guess and see if there is any fuel in the bowl?

Also at first it felt like it was going to run away from me so I had to cut the power by turning the key to the off position.

Any tips on trouble shooting this further?

I'm having a hard time finding the battery acid and was wondering if I could just fill the cells up with water.

Hello

Trying to figure out where do these hook up ? Any idea? These are under the gas tank.

While I await more parts to be delivered. I figured Id get started on the hoses and hooking those up. Is there a source online I might be able to reference?

The Service manual is no help here. Would Haynes manual be helpful?

JSpooner was kind enough to sell me his clutch basket and primary drive so that I can complete my motor reassembly. However, prior to that I was searching for an aftermarket alternative. Can the RD350 use a Banshee clutch basket? Those seem to be  readily available. I've gone to Hinson & Wiseco Aires, but they have other RD models,  it the 350 for some reason. I'd like to know for my knowledge. Maybe on the next tear down or when I change the clutch I'll upgrade.

I was just going to rebuilt them forks since the bike hasn't been ridden in over 35yrs. However, how often or rather what determines when fork springs should be changed?

Was going to get the below for the RD350. While I wait to hear back from Frank Forks to see if he can send me a set & how long it would take to get here

So this just broke up. Can I still use this clutch basket or should I find another one?

Hello,

Finally after A very, very long time. I'm putting the motor back together. I could use some help though. I don't quite remember where some parts go, in which order or it's not clear to me what the ft-lb tq is for some of the bolts/nuts. Appreciate the help; thank you in advance.

Q: Should I use loctite and tq to specs? Also, the washer has a dome shape to it; which way should it go?
A: Yes. If the motor is on it's side, the dome faces up. In other words, the dome side sits up against the nut.

Q: Does this washer fit up against the case like this?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this the right order and should the cylindrical washer stick out over those teeth like that?
A: Yes

Q: What is the Ft-tq for the bottom nuts?
A: 23

Considering sending my forks out to franks forks, but was curious if these would fit my 75' RD350 as they are cheaper than getting a new set from Frank.
