Got it fitted today no problem. It comes with new bolts for all the hardware along with the rubber dampers. The two front ones were loose and would have fallen out at some point a dab of hot glue solved that. It fits pretty snug and the seat stay won't engage as it won't open completely as the side contacts the frame before fully open. Im sure that will wear and eventually open all the way. It's no problem as it opens enough to remain without having to hold it. I'd give it a B+. Worth the $285 or whatever it was. Pics to follow.

I have been looking HARD at those seats, and I want to hear everything you have to report, please. The good, the bad, and...you get the idea. Thanks, man!

Will do. I can start with the shipping. From Vietnam (I think?) to my house in 17 days. Not too bad. I'll report back when I get it on. Hopefully the chilren will give me a break when I get home from work and I can sneak out to the building.

those are nice seats for sure.

I'm hoping it lines up well with the tank. I'll post a pic tomorrow eve or Sunday when I can get out to the building.

From Texavina. Seems great quality. I only had time to fondle it for a second as it was delivered right as I was leaving for work. I should get it switched over next couple days

I know she's a pro racer but is it just me or did she look twitchy and nervous on the bike? Just didn't seem very organic. Kind of uncomfortable to watch her on it. Maybe just because a first ride but...

Quick update. A couple days ago I hit reserve at 85 miles so yesterday I head out armed with a water bottle of gas to see if my inspection and subsequent finding of a slow flow on the right side crossover nipple was the culprit. Remember I only got about 8 miles before she gave up the first time I hit reserve. I rode over near my local non-ethanol station and put some miles on her staying close in case of emptying. I pulled in at 101 on the tripometer with some still in the tank so it seems I have remedied the situation. Thanks for all the help.

You come down i'll coach and help.

newtronic. yikes. welcome to 1992  :dawg:.

Ha! Yeah, I got it for cheap in the for sale here.  you should see the box, very retro. I was gonna buy the hpi during the sale but passed.  I figure this thing is enough to get the job done and, for now, I don't need any bells or whistles just a piece that works. I'll shoot you a pm to see what weekend is good for you. I may drag the camper down that way and make a weekend of it since I'll be there anyway.

you're in the triad, right? always welcome to haul it down 77 we can go over a few things if you want one weekend.

to be honest, stock pipes and a k&n and y boot work just as well as a stock airbox down low, they have the runner length & that's what matters. i've done back to back.  But, any well tuned rd can be ok down low with chambers as well.  :twocents:

Yeah I'm in the 'Boro. I may take you up on that sometime. It'd be nice to have a set of pro eyes on it. I do have the y pipe and K&N and I think the curve is pretty decent.  I buy the beer you slap on my Newtronic ignition?

In addition to the adjustment that Arrow mentioned...
in regard to your issue of smoking when cold and not when hot, your type of oil will affect this. This is pretty common with modern oils. Off a cold start the oil smoke is visible, but after warm up you can barely (if at all) see any smoke. Some of them are even labeled "smokeless". Motul 710 & 510 for example are labeled "Anti-Smoke". :twocents:

Good info. Thanks. I'm using Amsoil Interceptor. I see it claims low smoke and odor. Well there you go. I will check the stroke to familiarize myself with the process for maintenance as well.

It's easier on yours because of the priming wheel.
Turn the wheel until the plunger is at the fully out position (you can practice this a few times) then check the gap using feeler gauges, in between the large washer and the little raised heel on the pulley. You need 10 thou (0.25mm).
If for example you only have 4 thou, you will need to add 6 thou of shim(s) to what is already there.

Thank you.

Rodneya this is the one that hits the brake pedal. Might want to see if the kick lever will mount up to the stock arm to avoid this.

We're gonna find out.

Is there a link on how to check stroke? Never done it.
