Member evansje1 (John Evans) from Arkansas and a fellow RZ350 owner/ rider needs our positive thoughts and prayers. John has esophageal cancer and will be undergoing treatment consisting of 6 weeks of chemo and radiation followed by 6 weeks of rest, then surgery. John is a great guy and one of the best. Sure hated to hear of this bad news but he is strong in faith and a fighter.

It's very true. The difference in their ability to treat Leukemia from when I had it 15 years ago is much much better.... and even 15 years ago they fixed me up good :) The biggest thing are the advancements in molecular medicine. I hope the best for him and I suspect he'll be back out doing things he loves in good time.
Praying Evans.
Sending prayers.

I am not what you would call a religious person. Chuck did this for me about a week ago and it worked.
Hopping he can do it again for John.

Believe me, I understand Paul and respect your stance. Organized religion has caused some awful things around the world. I have been on both sides of prayer. So will refrain from getting into any discussion on religion other than those 2 comments and being open minded, I do additionally believe in the power of positive thinking and karma so for those who aren't the praying kind, please send John good vibes and positive thoughts.
well said evans.
I do hope john does well, my mom dealt with it for 13 years. immunotherapy would have helped her but was still in trials when she passed. Hopefully it doesn't spread for John and they can get it taken care of, hes really one heck of a good man for sure.
Evans,
I agree 100% with you!
Sending good vibes for a full recovery!
Cancer sucks.
Best wishes, and keep fighting :tough: John! You've got this.

I have one of my favorite phrases tattooed on my left side ribcage...
Fate Whispers to the Warrior, "You Cannot Withstand This Storm".
And the Warrior Whispers Back, "I Am The Storm".
Be Stronger than whatever comes your way ;)

Through a good friend, we found out that John had surgery 2 days ago. Please continue to keep him, his family, and many friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Here's an update from John copied and pasted from the K2S site:
Surgery was Tuesday. I was rolled into the OR at 8:10 and woke up at 6:20 with about 8 guys around me hooking up stuff. That was a 10 hr 10 process
I had an epidural in my spine for pain control. Xray broke it twice sliding a flat board under me to use with their portable xray machiine. So I was without pai control twice until we figured out what was happening. I have an excellent med team and they do a great. I'm in a teaching hospital and there a lot of very smart people here. Ben's oldest daughter started pharmacy school here this year.
Today I walked for the first time today since the operation.
They started giving me nutrients today in my feeding tube. I've not eaten since Monday and that was just liquids.
There were no complications during surgery and only a minor one after and it looks taken care of.
The next 7 days are very important to make it thru OK.
Thanks for checking on me.
You're a good friend for sure!
