Here are some right after they were blasted.

I did not. I wanted them to look factory. The clear would darken the color. However, clear powder would be good of you wanted to go that route.

They are much easier to clean after the vapor blasting. I can send some pics a little later.

Very personal choice. You can't really go wrong if you stick with aluminum or black. There's the brushed edge look which is nice too.

I opted to keep mine raw, but to have them vapor blasted.

Just remember with powder coating, you're going to need to remove the drive bushings out of the sprocket carrier. Another forum member forgot to do this.

Him for sure. He did some speciality pieces for my restomod. His work is spot on. Beautiful without being over done. Great guy and class act too.

Perfect
Thank you.

What about the stock look rims? How

Vapor blasting is great for the alloys. Then polish and brush the rim strip.

Correct, it's a brushed finish. I think the contact provided above is the same person I was thinking of; sandman900ss. He was our resident expert on this topic from the the old site. He's still a member here but has not been active in a while.

That's him! I've got his email if you want it.

If you want to stay true to the factory look, I would not bead blast. You'd have to sand them with varying grits but not over polish and then finish with a laquer.

This guy knows how to get them perfect. He did mine. Maybe you could message him for tips.

My 400 is modified from intake to pipe with a stage 1 port. Stock but modded VM28s. I still get about upper 30s-40mi/ ga. And I'm pretty hot on the throttle.

I'm on reserve at about 100mi on a 3.2 ga tank. I've pushed it to about 118 miles on a tank of gas. Still wasn't empty.

If the nicest people ride a Honda, the most insane people ride a 2T Yamaha powered Honda.  :metal:

Maybe it's coincidence or the same one, but I saw one of these for sale on FB for $4800

Here's a write up on the build. Great story.

Here's more on that Cl350/ banshee bike. https://www.bikeexif.com/2-stroke-cl350-honda-cafe-racer

I've often asked myself if 2mm or even 4mm or 6mm is worth all the trouble if the bike is running good as is. This is the biggest reason why I've stayed with my stock 28's for now.

But when has "it runs good enough" really stopped any of us? :science:
