General Chatter / Wheel chocks
April 04, 2023, 09:03:18 PM
Hello, Just got a small 5x8 enclosed trailer. Pretty sure I can get two RD's inside. Anyone know of a brand of wheel chocks that will fit the narrow front tire. Also just an overall good product. I'm okay if I have to secure it to the floor. I'm sure there are 100 companies out there but I thought someone here could tell me the exact brand they have, have used, or have seen in use. Thank You!!

General Chatter / DG head anodizing
March 25, 2022, 02:05:31 AM
Hi. Anyone know of an anodizing service that could do my DG heads. They are for my Daytona. My stock Daytona head is fine but needs cleaning/ polishing. I just figure when I sell the bike it needs to look good with either set of  head/heads. They have been cut an o ringed by Scott C. Any help with this service appreciated.

General Chatter / MC rearsets

Hello. How much should I expect to pay for a new set of MC rearsets for 79' Daytona? I posted this in the for sale category. My mistake.

General Chatter / Daytona fork legs
September 26, 2021, 01:19:39 PM
The lower fork legs on my 79' Daytona had the obvious clear coat issue from age. Luckily I found some NOS ones. I'd like to recoup some cash by selling the originals. I have use of a soda blaster to strip the old clear coat. Should I try to re-clear or sell them just bare aluminum and let new owner do what they want. Thank You

General Chatter / Daytona chambers
September 14, 2021, 12:33:17 AM
Hello. Who sells 79 Daytona chambers? I have a nice set of JR chambers that utilize the stock header pipes. My problem is I want to put on a set of MC rearsets I picked up a while back but they won't fit with the setup I have. It's either sell the rearsets or buy pipes that they can be used with. Thanks.

General Chatter / NOS 1.85 rim
December 24, 2020, 08:03:35 PM
Hi. Any idea what a new 1.85 Takasago rear rim should go for? The one I'm after is new but needs lacing. I have the OEM spokes. Hard to put a price on them I think. I have never laced one but with today's media I think I could get help. Thank You.

Turning Wrenches / Lacing stock RD rimsHiHi
December 20, 2020, 12:24:18 PM
Hello. A lot of info on aftermarket rims. I would like to lace an OEM 1.85 rear rim for 75 350. I am not against paying for this but would try it myself over the winter in NH. Any suggestions or tutorials on this .I am using a new Yamaha rim and spokes. Fortunate to find both.

General Chatter / Shoei Helmet
October 26, 2020, 04:07:55 PM
Hi! I have an older Shoei 8 ball helmet and just bought a new shield for it. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the helmet because obviously it may not be safe anymore. That said do I need any tools to replace the old one? It's been so many years I don't remember. Has a big single slot on each side. Thank You.

Turning Wrenches / Daytona Rims
September 02, 2020, 02:44:26 AM
Hello! I want to freshen up the black on a 79 Daytona rim. Any suggestions on brand and gloss of paint? The PJ1 epoxy gloss black seems like a good choice but maybe too much gloss?

Turning Wrenches / RD400 front wheel
March 18, 2020, 02:20:51 AM
Hi. I just replaced front wheel bearings and wheel does not spin freely. I am putting it together from a parts bike so not putting things back together the way they came apart. I do think I have all the parts needed. The drag could be a bearing or seal not seated completely but I think it's in the speedo clutch retainer pieces. All illustrations show the round retainer going on first then tabbed part after. Do you have to somehow get the tabbed retainer under the other retainer? Hope I gave enough info for help. Thank You.

February 25, 2020, 02:08:04 AM
After I meet guys at the track I won't have to ask so many questions! I will need an oil catch pan for USCRA Formula RD racing. I know this is not a racing forum and I'm not even a racer until later this spring. Anybody know who makes these pans? Thanks!

Turning Wrenches / Rear drive cushes
December 21, 2019, 04:34:41 PM
Hi guys. I removed the rear drive cushes on my 76 400. It was a very challenging job. I ended up with some minor damage using drummel tool and chisels but I think it's just cosmetic. I found some Oem cushes and I would like to know if I have to press the new ones in or can I tap them in maybe using lubrication of some sort?

Turning Wrenches / RD350 tach on 400
December 19, 2019, 12:31:18 AM
Hi I am building a RD400 to run in USCRA Formula RD. Obviously I don't need a speedo but tach yes! Does an RD350 tach work just fine on a 400? New venture for me. I have a very nice 400 tach/speedo cluster but didn't want to use it on race bike when I have a working 350 tach. Thanks guys.
