Title: Reinstalled Front Wheel - Now Brake Sticking, Wheel Won't Spin Freely
Post by: 95bravo on April 07, 2020, 05:44:41 PM
'76 RD400, I removed the front wheel to install new tire.  I reinstalled the wheel and now the wheel won't spin freely - the brake seems to be holding the disc.  I did not touch the brake while the wheel was off.  I believe the wheel went on correctly and is centered in the fork.  Should I remove the caliper and try to compress the piston?  :umm: I've made some sort of rookie mistake.  Thoughts?

Loosen the axle and see if it spins freely. The center spacer May have fallen in the wheel

Or...........loosen the pinch nuts on the clamp at the bottom of the fork leg and then tighten the axle nut and then tighten the pinch bolts then tighten the axle nut more. If you don't do it in the proper sequence it could bind.
