It seems the big buck bikes have to be untouched US models that are in good running condition.  :umm:

That was always the case. Chopped and rodded bikes almost never go for the unrestored money.

Or, one of a few very desireable models.  A friend in San Diego recently sold two incomplete H2 rolling chassis for $5k each to a buyer in Japan.
