(not mine)
These seem to be getting more and more valuable (even with 8% inflation taken into account). Glad I squirreled a few sets away back when they were selling cheap!
This set looks pretty nice.

They sure are pretty, but there will be no $1000 heads on my bike(s)

Yup! That's a lot to pay for a look with (from what I understand) no performance gain!
Back in the day anything labeled "DG" was the hot set-up, now it's just bling. :twocents:

In the old ads Ive seen from DG they claimed something like 8hp from the heads and 12 or 13 hp from the pipes. Not sure where they came up with that though because the pipes I had made nowhere near that.
its from the 'taking it further' article they (cycle world?) did back in the 70s with a bunch of dg stuff bolted on and they went drag racing. I need to get that uploaded and post it.
uploaded it and posted in 'the speed shop'.

They also did a cafe build called "A step further". No DG parts, but J&R pipes!
russ can you get a good scan of that article, everyone ive seen including the one i uploaded is shit.
$900.00 profit from original retail ..
Well it's been 40-something years, maybe the profit is fair. The seller must think so.
I'm good with that , Not for me ..
That bike they used in the article seems like it was kind of pokey. 14.8 to 14.02 times. Granted it's a 400, but my bone stock RD400 did a 14.2 and then just the DG pipes, a bit bigger jets, and some holes drilled in the air box lid brought it down to 13.7.
