I would spend more time getting the gear teeth angle correct, maybe on a milling machine.
Depending on what speed it runs at or what it is for.

I want one of those welders.
where can i get?

as somebody that actually apprenticed as a clockmaker (horologist) and have had to actually repair gear teeth before that have to work... just, no.

welder is just a mig unit.

Because he made the "patch" out of aluminum it will wear in quick... it won't last, but it will bed in OK.

That "repair" looks like a recipe for a future disaster. You sure wouldn't want to try that on anything critical (transmission, crank balancer, 4T camshaft or timing set).
And as that softer aluminum wears it will be thrown everywhere in tiny shavings

I have to believe that a fair number of "repair" videos on youtube are just for content.
