Title: Trick to get these f.. exhaust gaskets off
Post by: lowandslow on September 07, 2023, 12:39:43 PM
I can't seem to get my exhaust gaskets off. The one which seals between the cylinder and curved pipe. They :bang:  :bang:  are stuck solid, no amount of WD40, penetrating oil. I even tried the cheap HarborFreight vice grip but no luck 73 RD350

You mean the gasket like this?
they go rock hard after time and heat cycles. I use a thin flat screwdriver to scrape them out in pieces.Screenshot 2023-09-07 at 13-48-06 Motorcycle Exhaust Gaskets and Seals for Yamaha RD350 for sale eBay.png

Seal puller and a small block of wood or a rag folded over a bunch to pry against.

rodneya yes. Don't have a seal puller, will try the rag over screw driver. If only the ones we want to stick, stick this well  :haw:

Thanks to all, I used a flat bed screwdriver to pull the right one out. IT came out as vegetable curly :burnout:  slice
