I'll just make my own.
I ripped a float bowl gasket and didn't want to wait for a new one. Went to Napa and bought some gasket material. Scanned the 1 remaining gasket I had and cut it out with my 150W C02 laser cutter. Worked great!
Although the fumes probably took 6 months of my life.
ok. so how much was your laser cutter? and thats awesome
What Mark said. That's pretty sweet.
I have a small woodworking business on the side making custom wood signs with my wife. I have a CNC machine and the laser cutter in my basement. The laser machine cost around $3k years ago and it's paid for itself many times over.
We don't do near the volume we used to but ill keep both the cnc and laser forever cause I always find uses for them.
Mike, I am probably just across the river from you. Do you have any idea if any site exists (or should one be started) that does file sharing like your gasket scan??? My son also has a very nice laser, 3D printer, and a vinyl cutter, and he makes stuff for me. The guy on FB (burgess) has been making a number of parts, and they look great. Mark may know him??
as long as the gasket paper is not too thick, you can cut them out with a Cricut type machine with a blade attachment. They only cost a couple hundred $
very cool. I cant justify that but I'm really fucking good with an exacto & my punch set.

I haven't done any yet but this is what I have been planning to do. A while back I bought the gasket material and a nice punch set. Right now it's pretty low on the priority list.

As a bonus you can make your own decals as well.
I just use a small ball peen hammer, worked pretty good for gasket making.
I have been doing this with my uncles laser cutter and have built a catalog of yamaha two stroke and kawasaki triple gaskets. works pretty well!
very sophisticated
being a tech nerd all my life I like it for sure.
but too much hassle for me
I do them the old style, just a sharp knife and some hole punches
