WAY back when (around 1979) I was at a car show and someone had an R5 motor in a go-cart. I thought that was super cool.
This just seem dangerous.
growing up in SoCal in the 1970s most kids had Schwinn Stingrays, then minibikes, then dirt bikes until they aged out or got bored and switched to 3-wheelers for desert riding. The original ATC 90s were pretty popular but the ATC 110 even more so. Aftermarket frames and other products were everywhere. A friend that was also into RDs then decided to convert his ATC into RD based killer toy. Started with a new Bandito aftermarket frame, transplanted 1 of his RD250 motors into it, custom built triple clamps for the RD forks and added a wider rear axle. I rode it once and ran over my own leg turning it and that was enough crazy for me. As the sport evolved Honda released the 2-stroke ATC250R, Kawasaki had the 250 Tecate and a bunch of 4-wheelers came as bans on 3 wheelers forced by lawsuit over injuries and deaths. I did own a Tecate for a bit in early 2000s, then upgraded to a Banshee later. Banshee was fun and not overtly dangerous for experienced riders. Sold that 1 too after riding areas kept getting shut down and politics made it far less fun and harder to enjoy the experience we had in younger days.

That kit ATC is probably the cleanest one I've seen. They turn up every once in a while but are usually beat to hell or just parts. The engine is out of a '77 RD400D
The reason they banned the 3-wheelers wasn't exactly because they flipped over. They did. It was because a common "shoulder traction roll" in a turn would cause the 3 wheeler seat to come over the top and hit you in your rear end just as your head reached the ground. Driving your head into the dirt and snapping your neck. At least that's what a guy who pro raced them told me. Happened hundreds of times to kids whose parents thought tricycles were safer than motorcycles. No amount of gear would help.

Yep, but it's not one of the JDM bikes the seller recently sold for huge money. Maybe it's coming soon.
