Starting in 2028 Moto3 will change from a 250cc prototype class to a spec class using 700cc Yamaha twin CP2 engines derived from the R7. Not a move I'm in favor of.
So the new classes will be:
Moto3: Yamaha 700cc twin
Moto2: Triumph 765cc triple
MotoGP: prototype 850cc 4-cylinder
That's too bad.
Right now, it's the most competitive and exciting of the Moto classes.
If I had to watch only one class, it would be Moto3.
So the new classes should be:
Moto3: 125cc 2 stroke single
Moto2: 250cc 2 stroke twin
MotoGP: 500cc 2 stroke 4-cylinder

Yes, that's correct
In a little over 20 years they've succeeded in ruining all 3 classes in GP. For good measure they even did Moto3 twice. >:(
And with Liberty now in charge I'm predicting we haven't seen the end of the bad decisions.

I agree.
Liberty will move motorcycle racing in the direction of F1 - and kill it (for me at least).
They are on the way with the Moto3 announcement.
