Title: Each day, a new adventure
Post by: Biz on July 17, 2019, 09:01:50 AM
Finally got the RZ350 out a couple weeks ago.  Every day is a new adventure on this 34 year old bike.
First start, leaky fuel line and oil line at connections.  Trimmed and reconnected, no big deal.
First ride, to inspection station, hose to coolant recovery tank rotted and leaking coolant all over.  Truck ride home.  Replaced coolant line and all fuel lines.
Second ride to inspection station, fails due to broken wire inside blinker.  Repaired, but then rear blinker falls off.  Aftermarket blinkers from Lockhart Philips which have lasted several years but now they are trash.  Who makes a decent LED blinker that fits the RD/RZ?  Lots of choices out there.
Third ride, to work, on way home the horn just starts going off by itself.  Short in wiring maybe?  Who has seen this before?  Yanked wires off.
Can't wait to see what adventure is next!  The good news is it is running well and still a blast to ride.

My blinkers quit the other day 4 miles from home. So I ordered another Taiwan flasher relay off ebay for 7 dollars. Hopefully solves the problem.

Sounds like fun! By the time your bike is all sorted out, you will be one with the machine!

Yeah.  Still got the Daytona you worked on a few years ago too (head and cylinders).  It was having some issues that I haven't sorted out yet.  Electrical maybe, intermittent, runs good then one side acts up.  Hopefully can find some time to look at it this weekend.  Got 3 out of other 4 bikes on the road and running: '85 RZ (blinker problems), '07 GT1000 (for sale), '05 K1200S.
