Greetings fellow 2 smokers,
I just bought a project RZ350, will be taking it down to inspect the crank, its a stock bike. What pipes are good? Looking at HVC pipes as they look good, any opinions or comments? It has a set of DG which I heard are awful .
Toomey, Spec II or FPP in my opinion. Not bashing but I have heard some people have tuning issues with HVC chambers. I have a set of both Toomeys and FPPs. I am currently running FPPs on my RZ. :twocents:
DGs on an RZ are still way better than stock.
DGS ARE OK on an rz.. the aircooled ones are definitely lacking. id go toomey or lomas.
I had a set of FPP on RZ350 many years ago, good pipes as I remember. Fpp does not make the pipes anymore. Toomey does not make the RZ350 pipes anymore either? did not see any on the website.
How about a nice set of F1's from Gary at spec 2
Toomey makes them in batches with intervals in between runs as best as I can figure. I would contact them directly. FPPs as stated are only available used now. They are only making watercraft pipes now. Spec II are very good as well.
Check out the TSA pipes (Two Stroke Addicts) by Kenny in the UK. I got the stainless pipes with CF silencers, they are awesome for street, great mid range. I will try and get a photo to post. Not cheap but happy with mine.

Thanks for the advice guys, I chatted with Stuart Toomey and he said he might make another batch in the fall or may get a set of spec II. I will give the DG (that are on it now) a try and see how they perform, they look decent, unlike the RD air cooled integrated ones that look awful to me. I bought a set of JL's for my RG500, could never get them dialed in, I thought the stock pipes performed much better, sold the JL's and went with Sugaya's, that are awesome. Wonder if you can get a set of Sugayas for the RZ350, kind of a expense/hassle buying them in Japan.
ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT K-TEK. have heard good things, they are sweet for sure.

K2tec and others from webike are very nice.
The "Type-1" K2tecs are kinda budget pipes tho. Straight no-taper headpipes and fixed flanges ..etc.
The ones you linked to are for RD350LC (RZ350 in Japan). You need ones for RZ350R.
They are all here: https://japan.webike.net/ps/rz350r+chamber/#!search&p.k=rz350r+chamber
what he said.
The T2's in mild steel look like the best deal at $540 + $80 shipping, but they are short and fat ... probably pretty peaky power delivery.

Mutts Nuts pipes from the UK are also a fantastic choice. His "Midrange Hooligan" pipes get rave reviews over on Norbo's forum and make +/- twice the power at 5000rpm than the nearest competition.
