Yamaha dealer sold me b9es, is this right? Are b9hs the right plug? Or do people run 8's?

8's are the correct heat range.  It's worth it to invest in the Irridium versions, 8 bucks each but last......

'e' is extended reach (3/4 thread) you need the shorter thread. not good. return them.

b8hs. or b9hs if you want to run 9's

if theres a parts store nearby because they dont have them, get autolite '4092' plugs.

Unless the person knows what they are doing. Ask the guys at the autoshop for NGK 5510. That is the part number for B8HS
