Title: Twin cable choke solution
Post by: motodreams on September 14, 2020, 12:47:38 AM
Hi all,

I am looking for a choke solution for my RS project.

The TM34's had individual choke cables and I currently do not have a choke assembly for the end of the cables.  Any ideas out there?

Right now they are just bare cable ends.

Pretty cool. I was thinking of doing something like this for my OKO carbs. Two cables into one cable with a choke assembly.

I've been told choke cable assembly off TDR250 fits the PWK's

Not an easy thing to get hold of, to be sure.

I'll find the choke cable thread on Norbo's LC forum and post a link in a bit.

I believe the choke mechanism from a Yamaha Maxim 550 will work as well.

Bingo!

This should fit VM and TM series Mikunis (and PWKs)

For my H2 I used the stock choke cable with TM34's.

Stupid question here. It seems like on my TM32s the enrich circuit is pretty rich. Stock carbs use a crossover tube and single enrich circuit. If a guy did something similar on these would that work? Or is there not enough signal likely with bigger carbs/intakes...?

i thought about doing that but you should only need the enrichener on for 20-30 seconds.  :twocents:

It will run after 20-30 seconds on enrich but it won't idle without blipping the throttle until a few minutes. I can't touch the throttle on enrich or it will load up and die in seconds. I just dont want to go drilling holes for no reason.

drop the airscrew in a hair and will be good to go.
