Shipping to this side of the continent wouldn't be cheap, but the cylinders alone are hard to come by anymore. We could split the cost and road-trip it...but we can't ride in the same car...

First thing I did was check his other items to see if maybe he had some jugs comparatively priced.

Would bolt right into an aircooled RD chassis

Its not really an upgrade to the AC motor though, and parts are even more scarce.

I would guess a lot of the massive aftermarket stuff for Banshees is compatible.

Nope, nothing banshee / RZ will fit other than clutch basket and maybe the flywheel.
It may share some internal parts trans with a RD400. Liquid cooled is nice, and the bolt pattern on the cylinders is the same as the RD but only about 4 Hp more that a Rd400.
Engine mounts are similar, or maybe the same as the Banshee / RZ. Easy enough to make them fit and RD

They do NOT bolt right into the AC chassis. The engine mounting points are like an RZ, so mounts need to be made. However, the top end does bolt right on to the AC bottom end.

what spooner said. hot rod potential is better as well because of the liquid cooling. and reliability.
