Title: VR46 team in MotoGP starting 2022
Post by: SoCal250 on April 28, 2021, 11:38:44 PM
Valentino Rossi's VR46 team secures Saudi backing for a full MotoGP entry in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship.

Maybe this is why he's been sucking so much lately, he's been spending too much time on his many business dealings instead of focusing on riding (and not crashing). :umm:

Recent rumors are that they've been in talks with four manufacturers: Ducati, Aprilia, Suzuki, Yamaha. It's sounding like the deal will most likely be with Ducati, or possibly with Aprilia. Yamaha has already stated they will not field more than the current 4 bikes and they already have a contract with Petronas, so despite Rossi's long relationship with Yamaha it's not going to be them.

Dirty money.

Proof VR has no shame and no scruples.

Money and racing over everything else.

It's official. The VR46 team will be running Ducs next season.  8 Ducatis on the grid!
Sounds like Pablo Nieto will be the team boss and Luca Marini will jump over to take one seat. The other seat is still up in the air and Rossi hasn't said whether he will ride for his own team or retire at the end of the season. His latest comments from the Assen press conference kind of hint that's he's done.

I wonder if he is done if he'll test ride for his own team, he could then give himself one off races if one if his riders is unable to go.

Tons of rumors about VR switching to GT cars. Of course rumors are just rumors, but he's long flirted with various forms of four wheel racing so I don't think it would be a surprise.
