Title: New to me gopro hero5 black

I am still learning how to use it. I bought a windsock, which is basically a little foam box cut so you can stuff the camera inside it and still reach the buttons and see the rear screen. It really helps with the wind noise.I bought it used on eBay and am well pleased with it. It can shoot all the way to 4K but my computer struggles with 2K so 1080 it is.

Thanks!
Wade you can find a decent used go pro hero 5 or 6 black on eBay for under 200. Mine was $150 shipped with 2 spare batteries. My original go pro hero lasted 17 years . They have come a long way since then. A new hero 9 black is out of my price range at $400.

How do you mount it? It's so perfect, between engine noise, seeing the instruments and the road.

Your vids help us northerners get through the winter.

Thanks for the kind words.
I am using a wind sock to help with the wind noise and the chest mount from gopro. I am still messing with the audio settings. They were left on auto for this video.

Yeah, it's golden. Every morning I wonder if this little trip in to work would be interesting to anyone else. $150 isn't a bad buy-in.

I have a gopro hero 5 and usually use te gopro hero "session".   It's smaller, but what REALLY bugs me is the way it does video.  I have a SandDisk Ultra 64 GB Micro SD XC 1 card and lets say I do 20 minutes of straight video.   When i upload it to my AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ desktop (pizza box)....it gets broken down into MULTIPLE files.  I hate that.

I thought these gopro were supposed to record in 1 fell swoop, read: 1 large video

Also, please recommend a good SD card & external power setup or a cool *cig" lighter wired in setup, so the thing will stay on constant record.

Is this how these things record?   PITA.   Not savvy w/ digital cams

Thanks!

you need to make sure the sd card is fast enough, there is a transfer speed associated with it. also, there is a setting somewhere where it gives 'max file size' in the settings. I cant remember where but its there.

Here's an article about the recommended SD cards. I didn't know about the max file size setting Mark. I will check that out next time I use mine. :patriot:
Mine does not break the files down as you describe.
