Title: T500 with SR400 shocks
Post by: m in sc on October 19, 2021, 03:42:59 PM
Never cared for the shocks i had on the t500, they didn't dampen well on rebound. so, i dug the webs looking at specs around and figured a set of SR400 shocks would work well.

these are the 'new' sr400 shocks. I modified them a bit with a leftover progressive spring hood i painted, and painted the springs black. the lower ring is a replacement ring i had laying around that i lathed to fit to give some color in the back. these were super low mileage take-off shocks. from a 2015 400.

I would imagine they would be a perfect swap for an rd as well, especially if you removed the stock spring cover (easy).  Got them on ebay for 37 bucks shipped.

pic from todays lunch run.

really good actually. took it home down a notoriously rough patch of road, was really really good. Interstate to work earlier as well. definitely a good (affordable) option.
