I bought this a couple weeks ago. Gave it a complete checkup. Hone and new rings, fix wiring, new battery, set timing, complete carb clean, new chain and sprockets, 15-40 oil in the forks, left side switches, shim washers on clutch springs to prevent slipping, a couple decals, and lots of cleaning. It runs great. What a hoot. Can't wait to get it out on the open road. Progressive Insurance says it will be $12 to add it to my existing policy. I see on BaT auction they are going for some nice coin.

Very nice.
Cool little bike
Man, I really like that. Congrats!
That looks really nice! Cool little bike!
I wish insurance was that cheap here.
Took my Twin Jet for its maiden voyage and eeh. It will go 60 if you wring it out. Sounds good and cruises at 50 ok. It doesn't like hills. I checked the motor and exhaust pipe temperature after running it hard and it stays really cool, the head and spark plug were about 210 degrees. The suspension is like WHOA. If you go through woop-de-doos it woop-de-doos. I think I need 50wt in the forks. The rear shocks have no damping at all. Leaning it moderately in a turn is sketchy. Total cost to put it on the road was $50 for insurance, registration, and a plate so I can't complain.
I see no problem finding TDC with a dial gauge in the spark plug hole.
thats sounds about right. Yeah the stock shocks are awful, i have used small ones on my kawi 120 (similar) that can actually do something over bumps. Look for something like this:

as far as the front forks, i put in the heaviest oil i could find for forks, and its passable. did same with the 70 HS1 I had. I mean, its still sticks and twigs, but slightly better.
Great looking classic!
