Title: Exhaust stud spacing?
Post by: oxford on January 14, 2023, 08:29:08 PM
Does the exhaust stud spacing differ between a 250, 350, or 400?  I noticed that some header flanges have slots, I figure something has a different spacing and the slots are so they only need one header flange.

I dont have a set of 350 cylinders to check, I know there is a difference between a standard 400 and a Daytona, the Daytona's studs are angled and further apart.  I also have a set of 250 cylinders but they are 1980 250G's from Australia, they did not have the exhaust butterfly and the flat casting, they should be the same as the 2R8's, I think I may have a set of the 2R8's I will check them to if I do.

Yes, the spacing is different. This is what I have in my notes

Cylinder exhaust stud spacing
RD250 (352)/RD350 (351) = 62mm
RD400 (1A1) = 68mm
RD400F (2V0) = 72mm

side note, LC and RZ have the same spacing as the 400s (1a1).
