Just retired and had been dreaming of getting a bike again. I raced RDs in the 80s all over the southeast. Last week I walked into a random Used Bike dealer and saw an RD400f sitting sadly off to the side. Doesn't run (spent the last 10 years in the back storage room) but most of the parts are in a box, except...the left side oil tank cover. It will be six months before this beauty will be running, but in the interim, my quest for this random (and rare apparently) body part will continue. I would welcome any suggestions as to a source.

The plastics (side covers and seat cowl) for the RD400F have really gone up in price the past few years but they're around. The condition and price will depend on luck and how long you can wait for the right one.
