Been testing and tuning. Finally got off it long enough to take a couple of pics. Made some carbon fiber parts. The tank is steel wrapped with CF. Swingarm is a modified part from a KTM 250. Modded specII chambers, SCR top end, chinoy ignition. The headlight is off an old buell.
Always wanted one of these since I was a kid. What a blast to ride!
Good looking rd right there! :righteous:

Any details on the KTM swingarm swap? Is longer or lighter? What mods were needed to the swingarm? Stunning RD!
very nicely done. :cheerleader:
Cool!
Nice job! Gold rims are cool. :celebrate:
Thats a very cool looking machine.
The master cylinder is an EBAY Chinese set. Radial 16mm and it works great. Much better feel than what it had. Also had a matching clutch lever that worked fine. Looked like decent quality. I researched info on radial masters and found that 16mm looked about right. Would love to have a brembo but this suited the test stage just fine.
The bars are modified Tommaselli clip ons 32mm bored to 33mm
Fork brace is made out of two aluminum shaft collars with the brace made of 5mm carbon fiber. I think I had $35 in it.
Nice work!
Who did the CF wrap? Looks like good work for twill CF!
I did the CF wrap. It is not easy to get all the weaves to lay right. I used contact cement to lay it on before soaking down with resin. Its a real bitch to keep the air bubbles out. Loaded the paint gun with straight acetone and misted it on. Broke the surface tension enough for the air to come out.
Also interested in what you did to make the Katoom swinger fit. Did you change the length?
