Maybe I'll actually have a running 2 stroke when this event comes around one of these years. Next month I'll be at the Gap for the FZ Rally. Hoping to bring the Daytona along with me if I am able to get it running properly. It's only been there one time before.

No one has any experience with that on the fly tuner setup?

Curious on what swingarm your running? I'm also looking to upgrade the front brake caliper on my RD400F.

That swingarm is actually a DG that came on the Daytona I bought from a past forum member, Ron. It had been polished before I got it. Am I correct in saying that the DG swingers were gold when new? I think that's correct.

Anyone of you professionals use this setup before?

DaytonaCafe, was wondering what front fender you are running?  That looks really nice as does the entire bike!

You know, that front fender was on the bike when I bought it 30+ years ago. I never inquired where it came from & the guy I bought the bike from has long since passed away. I have no clue!

Chalk up yet another stalled project for me! Life just has a way of chucking curve balls at me & my extracurricular activities get pushed aside. Nevertheless, there definitely isn't a time clock on this build & my buddy has all of the FZR400 parts that'll be used. I'm TRYING to get time to pick up the RD350 but family emergency with my daughter took the wind out of my sails for a bit until that was resolved (praise God) & now staffing at both of my jobs is a problem (apparently the younger generation is much less interested in being a public servant) so we're all having to work overtime.  Anyway, VERY much hoping to start adding some pics to this idea/thread to jumpstart the actual build. I'll see if I can cajole my buddy to send some pics of fzr frame with his engine mocked up in it.

I wish I had someone to just say "NO". Definitely keeping the paint!

Would you like for me to record a montage of my wife screaming "NO!" at me the hundreds of times she's done so & and send it to you? She's Italian & super, super sweet right up to the point I try to buy another bike! The "NO!" is always forceful & angry. Probably not as effective though since you don't have to live with her after you buy it anyway. 

I'm just jealous. That bike looks like a badass project & my crap is on hold until I get some household projects sorted.   Great find!!

I lost track, irk...did GSXR front end not work with the wheels? At any rate, I see no problemo with the TL's. Looks great and if it works, why not? Love that machine. Where are u in Ga? We need to meet up and ride so I can ogle this beast in person!! Great build!

Take some pics as you go and update the build thread here as we all love to see the progress on builds and the guys here will be a TREMENDOUS resource with questions about these old bikes. I've owned my 2 smoker for over 30 years but these guys on this forum have forgotten more about 2 strokes than I've learned in 30+ years! Very much a wealth of knowledge here. I was only 19 when I went after my Daytona because I knew once I started riding it I'd never get rid of it. As the years have gone by, it's only solidified that sentiment as these babies are getting really difficult to find for less than an arm, a leg, AND your first born. Good luck with the build! Love it already even without the pics. 

What do you have for a rear rim on that FZR?

That's a Honda CBR F4i wheel. Also has a full CBR F4i rear brake swap. My buddy helped with all of the necessary machine work. Now runs a 17" rear wheel with a 160 section tire.  Easier to find sticky rubber for this canyon carver. He then powder coated both wheels white to match and powder coated all the brake calipers red to match each other.  Front calipers are 4 pot Nissin from a Triumph that bolt on stock FZR400 fork legs. I gotta get some time to stuff the engine back in. ☹ 

These make my sticker peck out. DEFINITELY need a set once available!
