Im still at it but took a little time off from the  RD to address an overheating issue with my Vette. First, fan controller went out. Got that fixed, then the radiator decided to start leaking, fount out that the radiator support bottomed out somewhere and got mangled I had to spend a considerable amount of time and money modifying a new radiator support to get more clearance. Now just waiting on a beautiful new all aluminum "race" radiator. Also pulled the intercooler, piping and other crap out to clean and polish.

Back to the RD. Got the RSW fork brace installed, fixed a brake fluid leak and tried to set initial timing but I'm not getting any spark. SHIT! I believe I have a bad relay as I have power going in, I can hear it click when I turn the key. Have voltage into the relay, but not out. Should have a new relay from amazon in a day or so.

Yes, on an RD350. Will not be running a front fender

Nice! I have one on the way to my house now. They are 10% off currently so it cost me $132.50 total.
$20.00 shipping is a little steep IMO.

Alright, back at it. Fuel lines ran. Some clutch issues I was having are sorted.
Wasn't happy with the side covers, stripped and repainted those.
Punch list
  • Set timing
  • Adjust carbs
  • Check all bolts and nuts
  • Top off fluids
  • Check tire pressure
  • Fill w/ premix
  • Fill garage with smoke

If you only plan on riding wheelies, not bad.

I'm going to watch this one. If I can pick it up cheaply, why not. It's only a couple hours drive for me.

I think it's brilliant. Those who know have seen these fly across the garage to never be seen again.

When I cleaned the Spec II's I have, I plugged an end, poured diesel and carb cleaner in them and shook them periodically throughout a week. Came out pretty good.

I also did my part for recycling. I used the solution that came out of the pipes to burn a stump out in my back yard.

Wow, that looks great!

I've seen dents in pipes removed with air pressure and heat. Requires some way of really sealing up both ends.
I'd like to find some junk ass pipes to try this on in fact.

I may just pick one up. I have a cheap Chinese knock-off that had decent video but the audio is atrocious.

Not to hi-jack, but have any experience with dash cams? After my car accident, I've decided it's time to equip the family fleet with them.

Turning Wrenches / Rd350 torque specs
April 24, 2025, 09:15:54 PM
I've looked and can't find the actual torque specs if there is one for the front an rear rim axle bolt torque specs.
Manual just shows some sort of force torque thingy.

Any help is appreciated.
Its getting really close.

Quick update - My body is on the mend. Feeling decent although, I have some nerve damage on my right foot. Will heal eventually doing PT I hope.
We had a major storm come through where I live a few weeks ago. My house was between 2 tornado's. Picked up some intense golf ball size hail and high winds. Our house, wife's Jeep, daughters car took a beating. Wife's Jeep, 12k worth of damage. Totaled daughters Ford Escape out. Just bought her a used Lincoln MKX to replace.
I feel kinda shitty as my new car, my vette and bike were well protected in the garage.

Sunday, My 82yr old dad fell and broke his hip. I must have pissed off someone/something. I've made some easy progress on the RD (pics to come shortly). Still need to time it, add fuel and kick her over.

3 sides of my house look like this. Hail was piled up like snow...
