Turning Wrenches / Headlight Assembly
May 10, 2023, 02:31:23 PM
Specifically the grommet/dampener and bolts that hold it to the ears. I put on some clipons (hate them but it does keep the front wheel down better) and did a stint down the hwy @ 80 for 5 miles or so. When I got around to replacing the choke lever that night I noticed the bucket just hanging there. Can I get a link to a place to purchase said parts? I'm having trouble finding them. Thank you in advance.

Turning Wrenches / Electric issue
April 02, 2022, 01:05:09 PM
My '74 350 has been having intermittent issues. Sometimes she won't start, dies at stop lights while idling, etc. Turn on key, bright neutral light. Turn on engine switch, light dims considerably. If it fires, while idling, if I hit the headlight it will kill it. Not every time but I can tell when it will from the brightness of the neutral light. It wouldn't start yesterday, today fired on first kick. Made it most of the way to work then died as I was coasting to a light. Once I got it off the road I turned the key and the N light was dim, when I turned on the engine switch barely visible. Never re-fired.

The batt was in spec (the shop said last time I was there). I bought a new one but haven't installed yet. I have to change the leads out to fit the new batt but it seems more of a charging issue.

Thoughts?

If Mark doesn't find one for you, I have no plans for my '75 350 transmission. PM if interested  :like:

General Chatter / 73 Transmission

So i am selling a 75 rd250 that needs a rebuild and a 73 rd350 in bits but mostly there. The $ from selling will go to a rebuild on a 74 engine I have. Question is, I believe I only have one tranny between the 2 350 engines I have and I told the guy that's gonna make me an offer that the 350 in bits he was getting was complete. So how hard will it be for me to get another 74 rd350 tranny?

Is there anywhere I can get a Dyna ignition from where we get a discount? Is it Vintage smoke only at this point?

like this.

I'm running the exact same Casil battery...after my Radio Shack alarm batteries finally died. I think I got about 12-13 yrs service out of them.

How did you attach the leads to the terminals worth this little clips instead of posts?

8 years out of a 26 dollar alarm battery. no weird chargers, nothing to monitor. Never an issue.

Link?

solid choice for sure.

Figure at some point I'll load up my bike and engine in the truck, drag the engine down to Ed, then stop by you on the way home to put some eyes on the one I'm riding.
