Yep, you showed me how a way back, hasn't done it since. But I still give her the boot, just in case.

I run the RFY 320 with the conical 7mm springs. I sent them to some guy on the interweb that had a good rep on rebuilding them. I have older konis, but like these better. I was the last person to have them upgraded, took forever to get them back, thought he ghosted me. But it was worth it.

I'm still running the ol Crane. God only knows how long that's been on this bike. For me, works great. Just need to kick the hell out of it so doesn't start in reverse.

She started right up. Smoked like a banshee, no pun intended, off I went after I let it idle for a while. I now live in an area where there are a bunch of retired folks. Guy next door has his and her Tesla's, they must love me with that bike.

Jasco, back in the day was the bees' knees. That stuff took your skin off if you were not careful, and sure as hell removed paint with ease. Now, pffffft. Two years ago, or so I stumbled across pti stripper from aircraft spruce. Ordered a bottle, opened it up and it stunk like high heaven, but doesn't have methylene chloride which was the cocktail of choice back in the day. I quickly applied it, before the epa got a hold my address, to the original paint on my 75 and it ate the paint away like magic. I just checked their site, it's still there but looks like the epa got wind as I don't think u can order it anymore.
They shipped it in a thick plastic bottle. I didn't use all of it, put it back on the shelf. Maybe a month later I look up and the damn bottle was about to explode. Bunch of numb nuts!
Oh well, good luck.

The past two years I have drained the tank, cleaned carbs and left them in a toasty warm basement. This year, I moved and left the pre-mix in the tank. Now, I know I should drain and clean, but I want to start the ol girl up this weekend, would it be safe to just fire her like this?
Thx.

Oh wow, then that explains it. 15 secs isn't going to cut it.

General Chatter / Warm up time

Let's say its 80 degrees outside, or whatever. How long do you all let your bikes warm up before taking off?
On another note, haven't ridden bike in 6 weeks, selling house, moving, etc... how long is premix good for? I rode it today for a bit, finally in the burbs where there isn't a stop sign or light every fing block. I basically kicked her over, waited 15 secs and took off. Ran light shit the first couple minutes, then got better. But still wasn't what I remember 6 weeks ago. Is it the premix?
The neighbors on both sides are both retired, I know they are thinking with my 4x4, my sports car with loud exhaust and the RD... who in the hell moved in next door. lol. And for the love of God, he isn't going to really hook up those Cerwin Vega D9's in that garage, is he?
Thx.

Last year I installed both the switches and the caliper above. Zero issues with them. Both look and work great. No issue bleeding caliper, I used gravity method. If you shop around, you will find the caliper and maybe the switches cheaper somewhere else. I know I paid under 100 bucks for the caliper.

Yes, look at amazon, type: 2 stroke digital timing light. These allow both 4 and 2 stroke timing. Innova sells one, expensive. I'm sure there are many others, probably cheaper too. I use a basic dial back with a knob.

The pipes look brand new now.

Would the adjustable caps help with front end stiffness or can a just cut the pvc pipe some?

Being new to the rd game, I put 15 wt in. I'm 190, with clip-ons and riding the bike a few miles, holy heck my arms, hands, etc. feel like crap. And I'm in pretty damn good shape. I'm going to put 10 or maybe even 5 in cause its way to stiff with the springs I put in there.
