Ugly butt proud

...ish

Cut down and re-welded ends back on to b.s. brand stand, fabbed up brackets to catch underside of swing-arm between the axle and where the round tube terminates at the flat end tab that holds the axle.  spec ii classics.

Pin goes through plunger shaft into cavity on home-made lever, marries the two moving parts.

I don't think I did that right, but anyway, this is my solution for right side choke lever on TM34.
It works, but I think (well, I hope) that it could be designed a little better.  When the back of the lever pivots upward, it forces the plunger up, but it also forces it toward the carb body a little bit, not just perfectly straight up... so over time it might cause unwanted wear on the brass plunger shaft or the cavity in the carb body that it rides in.

Hello Paul, Chuck,
I really like that front fender and fork brace.
If that set-up works on '75 RD350 as well, I will likely try it.
Could either of you, or anybody else that knows, add the details of what was used here (brand/price)?  This will definitely be good option for folks needing fender solutions.
>>Thanks

General Chatter / Re: Vitos RD350 crankshaft
July 15, 2020, 07:10:20 PM
Another Vito's crank user here.
I bought mine in Jan 2017, installed in March of that year.
I now have 7619 miles on it in my '75 with porting, pipes, carbs.
All street riding, highway and city... including 500 miles beating the hell out of it at the gap last year.
Time bomb?   Who knows.  Will certainly post again if something newsworthy develops, as I too had lots of concerns about these at the time I purchased.  The info will be valuable.

Hi there Mark,
When you swapped in the CR85 motor, what were the biggest hurdles?
I'm guessing some motor mount reconfiguration happened... was there anything you had to fabricate on a mill or lathe (2 things I don't have)?  Same chain size?  Did you have to come up with any spacers to get F and R sprockets aligned?
I replaced crank bearings and did 1st overbore on my G3 last summer.  When I was in there I saw some veeeery scary shit going on in the trans.  I wasn't prepared to deal with it at the time so I closed it up knowing I'd be addressing it down the road.
The notion of making that bike more capable has been on my mind for many years.  I would prefer a swap to rebuilding trans and modding existing motor.
Thanks for any input!   ...and, >Thanks for the site<
