Quote from: racewiththedevil on September 19, 2023, 06:56:19 PMGot out of work a little early and started messing around with stuff.  Didn't take any pics modifying this swingarm unfortunately, but ultimately I narrowed the pivot tube pretty substantially, sourced some needle bearings and seals, and used a shaft from an SR500.  What do you guys think about this vs the RD350LC swingarm?  I'm leaning towards this, even though it extends the wheelbase a little bit.  Alloy arm.. definitely better suspension... I kinda think I have to go this route, mainly because of how surprised I am that it fit in the tiny RD frame

Not to mention, I don't think fitting up the mounts for the dogbone/upper shock will be too bad at all.  Just gotta mess around with different linkage options.IMG_9129.jpg

I use a adjustable tierod and bellcrank system for the top mount giving a lot of options for suspension forks and shock!

Easier to freeze the shaft with ether. And a wee bit heat to the rotor, where I can still handle with a little discomfort.
Either way I am guilty of using  the rubber dead blow ,has not been a problem .

My 2 cents make sure you seat is at least 18" above peg.
I try to get as close 20"  as possible ........I have measured a lot of bikes   I have done 17 a few times and it's too low for hips in .my experience

That was a Indian made alloy knock-off  of a benelli it was always on my personal bikes. It was very light had holes when I bought it patched em up used it 8 years welded a few more spots, and sent it to a new home.

12 days, that's mighty quick  :whoop:
Always use as much engineering that the other guy left you..ie triple forks brakes, swing arm axle wheel brake......
My next build is should be pretty quick. That yellow wheeled bike on the other bench

I do have fresh painted covers incase you were wondering.
The fender will be figured out when the fork brace gets here.

Seeing that lectrons are $1200 bucks and a running engine is well over 1k its not an out landish asking $
Running plus provenance and speed records will become  the hot ticket in a few years .

My other prediction is powdercoat is t h e new Kreem  we've lost a lot of frames.

I have cut up nicer bikes......

7 years ago I could not give away 23 wheels 6 sets of forks more than 3 complete stock exhaust dozens of pegs and centers tanks. The only caveat was, all or nothing.

Not one bite.......I ended up pulling all th rotors and trading parts with John at economy
